Pascagoula to Pearlington + Log Town!

6/5/22

This is Kurt! Reporting about the day in the life of Safety Van! We woke up around 4am to start the day, route meeting at 6. Lots of turns in the cue sheet. Emma (my fellow van partner) and I had a lot of work cut out for us. We were chalking each turn with such short frequency we had to tell the leading group to wait and let us get some turns done ahead.

Despite leaving so early in the morning, we didn't get to the host till 1pm, where they welcomed us in open arms. They had pizza and snacks as lunch for us, and helped us unload our van of bikes and bags. The majority of groups finished the ride day, with only a few asking for assistance in finishing. Dinner was a mixed buffet of pasta with meat sauce, casseroles, gluten free lasagna and vegetarian and vegan options to boot!

Post dinner we got a ride to Log Town, the rumored big hang for Pearlington. Log Town used to be a huge industry in Pearlington for logging (hence the name), but when we visited it turned out to to be a gorgeous lake and natural land site.

Pearlington was an incredible place to stay, and some of our riders even ranked it as one of their favorite places to have visited. Huge thanks to all of our hosts and community members at Pearlington Mississippi, we greatly enjoyed our stay!
